Cargo traffic routing at the border gate: A solution from Tan Cang - Moc Bai Dry Port to enhance cross-border logistics connectivity.

On September 10, 2025, the Moc Bai Border Gate Management Center promulgated Notice No. 85/TB-TTQLCK regarding the traffic routing and operating hours of cargo consolidation, inspection, and supervision points for import and export cargo at Moc Bai International Border Gate. The notice aims to optimize cargo transportation at the border. All cargo trucks and containers engaged in import and export activities will now be routed according to standardized regulations. For imports from Cambodia into Vietnam, trucks are no longer required to pass through the Joint Control Station at Moc Bai International Border Gate. Instead, they are directed to the customs-supervised point 45B1C03 at TCMB before entering Vietnam via the Xuyen A street.

This solution significantly reduces congestion, shortens customs clearance times, and enhances the effectiveness of customs and border control agencies. Previously, trucks transporting import-export cargo between Vietnam and Cambodia often faced prolonged waiting times and lengthy queues stretching along the Xuyen A Street just to complete border-crossing formalities.

As the key logistics unit of Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) at the border area of Tay Ninh province, TCMB has actively coordinated with border management and customs authorities in implementing the vehicle routing solution. TCMB focuses on three key tasks:
. Organizing traffic flows effectively to minimize congestion and ensure transport safety.
. Providing direct on-site support to customers and drivers, enabling faster and more convenient clearance and movement.
. Continuously updating information and assisting enterprises in transport planning, helping optimize time and mitigate operational risks.

By participating in the vehicle routing implementation, TCMB not only ensures smooth logistics operations at present but also contributes to optimizing the entire cargo flow across Moc Bai Border Gate. Customers, shipping lines, and transport enterprises gain additional advantages in adjusting their operational plans, reducing costs, and enhancing fleet efficiency.

Looking ahead, with the planned development of the Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone and the Ho Chi Minh City – Moc Bai Expressway, TCMB’s presence will continue to create new momentum for Tay Ninh province. Notably, the expressway’s resettlement and compensation subproject (Component 3), with a total investment of VND 5,052 billion, is under implementation.

More than just a strategic transit point, TCMB stands as a critical link in Vietnam’s national logistics network, making tangible contributions to the goal of positioning Tay Ninh province as a dynamic hub of trade and industry in the region.
