Soai Rap channel — the channel leading to Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc terminal was fully dredged in December 2025.

On December 29 and 30, 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Maritime Administration (HCMC Maritime Administration) issued Maritime Notices (MN) No. 2515 and No. 2536 on the technical parameters of the Soai Rap channel. These notices provide the basis to affirm that the channel dredging was completed on schedule, promptly meeting the growing demand for inland waterway transport in Ho Chi Minh City, while also strengthening vessel-handling capacity at Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal.

According to MN No. 2515/TBHH-CVHHTPHCM and No. 2536/TBHH-CVHHTPHCM, the HCMC Maritime Administration has completed the maintenance dredging works for the Soai Rap navigation channel, achieving a channel depth of -8.0 m.
With these technical parameters, the channel conditions are favorable for shipping lines to assess new services and additional sailings, with appropriate vessel sizes and drafts, for future calls at Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terrminal. A channel depth of -8.0 m is not merely a technical specification; it also creates additional room to optimize transport costs, as shipping lines can increase carried volumes per voyage.
