Australian Ambassador visits Tan Cang - Hai Phong International Container Terminal

On the afternoon of August 4, Mr. Andrew Goledzinowski, Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, led a delegation of the Australian Embassy to visit Hai Phong Newport International Container Terminal (TC-HICT) of Saigon Newport Corporation. Senior Captain Bui Van Quy, Deputy General Director, chaired the reception for the delegation. Further participating were leaders and employees of TC-HICT.

At the meeting, Senior Captain Bui Van Quy introduced some typical activities about Saigon Newport in general, TC-HICT in particular. Senior Captain Bui Van Quy said Saigon Newport Corporation always strives to improve and upgrade infrastructure and equipment to match the world's green development trend. TC-HICT is the largest deep-water container port in Vietnam, capable of receiving ships with a tonnage of up to 14,000 TEUs with direct service routes to the Americas and Europe, significantly reducing logistics time and costs.

Mr. Andrew Goledzinowski's visit is within the framework of the project "Promoting business participation in Vietnam's Vocational Education" under the Aus4Skills Program (Australia and Vietnam develop resources). This is an important cooperation between the governments of the two countries in vocational education, capacity-based training and labor market orientation. The project helps Vietnam improve the skills of the logistics workforce. After the success of the 2017-2021 period, the Australian government, through the Aus4Skills Program, continues to support phase 2 of the 2021-2025 project.
