To meet the increasing demand of the shipping lines in term of berths and CY area, Saigon Newport has been speeding up the construction of the CY area of 6.2 ha and the 216m-long Berth B7, that is located next to the existing Berth B6 at Cat Lai Port.

To meet the increasing demand of the shipping lines in term of berths and CY area, Saigon Newport has been speeding up the construction of the CY area of 6.2 ha and the 216m-long Berth B7, that is located next to the existing Berth B6 at Cat Lai Port.
In July, 2008, the construction of the CY area has been accomplished. This CY has been equipped with 07 RTGs that are 3 1 wide, 1 over 4 high and made by the US-based Mijack Inc. In October 2008, Berth B7 will be completed and in December, 2008, the installation of 2 quayside gantry K.E cranes with lifting capacity of 40 tons and waterside outreach of 35 m for each will be finished. Hence, Berth B7 will be able to accommodate the geared vessels since October and the gearless vessels since December 2008.
Berth No 7 will be operated and managed by Tan Cang Cat Lai terminal joint stock company – a subsidiary of SNP.
