G6 Alliance gives Asia-Us port rotations

Members of the G6 Alliance have released details on port rotations for the proposed service expansion to the Asia-North America West Coast and transatlantic trade lanes that was announced in early December.
Subject to the completion of a regulatory review process, the 17 services are scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2014.
“The G6 Alliance monitors market developments closely and is continuously seeking opportunities to improve our service offerings,” member carriers said in a statement. The members are APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Nippon Yusen Kaisha and Orient Overseas Container Line.
The G6 Alliance was formed in late 2011 and began operating in March 2012 on the Asia-Europe and Mediterranean trade lanes. The cooperation expanded to Asia-North America West Coast trade in May last year.
With the proposed expansion, the alliance will provide a network covering all three major East-West trade lanes, operating a total of 29 services. All services will be marketed individually.
