At the moment of transition between the old year and the new year, Saigon New Year's Corporation organizes a New Year's Eve celebration and issues orders to start spring at Tan Cang - Cat Lai terminal, a dedicated container port ranked 29th in the group of 30 largest and most modern container ports in the world. The ceremony to welcome New Year's Eve and issue orders to start the Lunar New Year this year was attended by Mr. Phan Van Mai, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Sang, Deputy Minister of Transport; Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of Military Zone 7; Rear Admiral Pham Manh Hung, Deputy Commander - Chief of Staff of the Navy; Major General Le Ngoc Hai, Deputy Commander, City Command. In 2021, despite the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Corporation successfully completed the business plan. The total volume of containers through the ports of the Saigon Newport system reached more than 9, 2 million Teu containers (equivalent to 130 million tons of goods), an increase of 4.7% compared to 2020. Saigon Newport is currently in charge of port services for over 55% of the market share of import and export containers through seaports of the country. Particularly, Tan Cang - Cat Lai terminal continued to record growth, with throughput reaching more than 5.3 million Teu containers (equivalent to 75 million tons of goods); City Customs of Ho Chi Minh City collects import and export tax through the port of over VND 78 trillion, equivalent to 20.5% of the city's total budget revenue of Ho Chi Minh City.

The results of seaport and logistics service activities of Vietnam in general and Saigon Newport Corporation in particular have contributed significantly to the total import and export turnover of goods in 2021, estimated at 668.5. billion USD, up 22.6% over the previous year, in which export turnover of goods reached 336.3 billion USD, up 19%; import of goods reached 332.2 billion USD, up 26.5% compared to 2020.
Having achieved the above results, the Corporation has accelerated and accelerated the application of information technology and digital transformation in both internal operations and transactions as well as in providing services to customers, adapting high with the COVID-19 epidemic situation, with continuous and prolonged distances, such as: expanding the application of digital signatures to over 65% of items of official documents, documents, internal transactions; deploying the function of entering the export cargo liquidation register online; develop the feature of electronic container forwarding documents (eEIR); implementing eTDR reporting feature; deploying automatic refrigerated container temperature monitoring system; enter the train book online; mobile application for Customs Clearance (CHB), electronic warehouse management system eWMS, which helps to reduce 70% of customers who do not have to come to the transaction directly; at the same time organize many large-scale online seminars with customers both at home and abroad. Multi-channel customer care is promoted on social networking platforms to proactively capture customer problems and promptly solve and respond to requests.

To serve production activities during the Lunar New Year 2022, at Tan Cang - Cat Lai terminal, each production shift has more than 910 workers directly managing, operating and serving. During the Tet holidays, the port receives an average of more than 10 ships per day, throughput of 118,097 Teus, equivalent to more than 1.65 million tons of cargo. Particularly on New Year's Eve, the port welcomes 07 container ships for cargo handling; the first shipment was loaded onto the CAPE QUEST vessel of CMA (France), with a tonnage of 30,000 tons, sailing Cat Lai (Vietnam) - NINGBO (China) - SHANGHAI (China) - SHEKOU (China) - Port Klang (Malayxia) - Singapore for forwarding to the US - is a shipment of aquatic products and seafood - a key commodity last year that contributed to Ho Chi Minh City's export turnover of 44.9 billion USD. The total volume of handling on New Year's Eve at Tan Cang - Cat Lai port is about 15,000 Teus (equivalent to 210,000 tons of goods), showing the prosperity of Vietnam's economy in 2022.
