On 19th May 2010, the delegates of the 8th Asean Port & Shipping Conference have a visit to Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) and a port tour at Cat Lai terminal.

On 19th May 2010, the delegates of the 8th Asean Port & Shipping Conference have a visit to Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) and a port tour at Cat Lai terminal. The deledation was deeply impressed with the market share and the volume increase of SNP in 2009. SNP is now making up 80% of the container import- export market share of the South and over 46% of those nationwide. In 2009, despites of the financial crisis and the decrease of the import- export cargo, SNP has still made a year on year increase of 21%

The delegates are also concerned how the new container terminals in the South will impact on the volume and market share of SNP, the projects for the development of bulk terminals in the near future and the achievements of the terminals in Vietnam in the first four months of 2010. The delegates highly appreciates the logistic connection of SNP. From 20th to 21st May 2010, the SNP had the delegates attended at the 8th Asean Port & Shipping Conference and the exhibition booth at the event organized at Winsor Plaza Hotel. Hundreds of visitors have been to SNP’s exhibition. Especially, the visitors form Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia paid special attention to the operation of Tan Cang- Cai Mep deep sea terminal

At the conference, the speakers had the presentations and delegates discussed about the opportunities, challenges and strategies to boost the Inter- Asian container trade, potentialities of the Logistic services in Vietnam, Vietnam’s economic recovery and regional integration.... The exhibition and conference gave the chance for the SNP’s delegates to exchange with the customers and other terminal operators of the region and update the information about the world and regional situation of the terminal operation, the state of art terminal handling equipment as well as the optimum solutions in terminal management operation and Logistic network.
