
Saigon Newport Corporation issues orders for the first batch of goods in the spring of At Ty 2025

Right on New Year's Eve, Tan Cang - Cat Lai Terminal welcomed 7 container vessels for cargo handling, with a total handling volume of nearly 10,000 TEUs (equivalent to 140,000 tons of cargo). During Tet At Ty 2025, the Terminal maintained over 1,100 direct laborers working per shift to serve production activities.
It has become an annual tradition that at the moment of transition between the old and new year, on the evening of January 28 (i.e., 29th of Tet) , Saigon Newport Corporation and the Vietnam People's Navy Command organized a New Year's Eve celebration and inaugurated the first cargo handling of the new spring at Tan Cang - Cat Lai Terminal , Vietnam's largest and most modern container terminal. The program for inaugurating the first cargo handling of Lunar New Year At Ty this year was attended by Mr. Phan Van Mai, Member of the Central Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, who delivered a congratulatory speech.Also attending were: Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee; Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee ; and representatives from departments, agencies, and localities of Ho Chi Minh City.

Colonel Ngo Minh Thuan, President of Saigon Newport Corporation , stated: To serve production activities during Tet At Ty 2025, at Tan Cang - Cat Lai Terminal, each production shift has over 1,100 direct laborers managing, operating, and serving. In the first week of Lunar New Year, the terminal welcomed 76 vessels for cargo handling, with a throughput of 110 thousand TEUs, equivalent to over 1.5 million tons of cargo. Particularly on New Year's Eve, the Terminal welcomed 7 container vessels for cargo handling, with a total handling volume of nearly 10,000 TEUs (equivalent to 140,000 tons of cargo). This demonstrates the prosperity of Vietnam's economy in 2025.
The first container after the cargo handling inauguration was loaded onto the CNC CHEETAH vessel of CMA-CGM shipping line , with a deadweight of 39,000 tons and a capacity of nearly 2,900 TEUs , on its journey from Cat Lai (Vietnam) to Shekou, Dalian, Ningbo (China). The cargo was electronics, a key commodity last year that contributed to Ho Chi Minh City's exports reaching over 46 billion USD in turnover.

In 2025, to maintain the momentum and growth pace, firmly break through, and reach further, Saigon Newport Corporation has identified that it will continue to strongly and effectively implement its three traditional business pillars: terminal operation, logistics and transport services, and marine economic sectors. Saigon Newport will also develop two new business pillars: industrial park investment and business ; and island tourism services and offshore renewable energy development. Thus, Saigon Newport Corporation currently defines its business development based on 5 pillars (port operations, logistics services, shipping and sea services, industrial zone investment and management, marine tourism services and offshore renewable energy development). The corporation strives to increase key economic indicators (revenue, profit) by 5%, with the logistics pillar alone increasing by over 15% compared to 2024.

Speaking at the program Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai highly appreciated the achieved results and the contributions of Saigon Newport Corporation to the City's development. He also expressed his wish that Saigon Newport Corporation will continue to develop and make further breakthroughs, contributing more to the economic recovery that the entire country and the City are vigorously implementing. On its part, Ho Chi Minh City will promote administrative reform, create a favorable business investment environment for enterprises ; and effectively implement the plan for the development of the city's logistics industry until 2030, creating an important foundation for the development of ports in Ho Chi Minh City.
