Saigon Newport Corporation overcomes crisis and hits new record of 3 million Teu in 2011

2011 was a difficult and challenging year for maritime activities in general and sea port operation in particular. As the result of our continuous effort in improving service quality and to meeting the need of customers, Saigon Newport (SNP) has received tremendous support from partners and customers to overcome those difficulties and challenges.

2011 was a difficult and challenging year for maritime activities in general and sea port operation in particular. As the result of our continuous effort in improving service quality and to meeting the need of customers, Saigon Newport (SNP) has received tremendous support from partners and customers to overcome those difficulties and challenges.

According to the latest statistics of SNP and its Subsidiaries, the total throughput of SNP in 2011 hit new record of 3 million TEU, grew up to 5.3 % in comparison with the previous year. The figure included 2.6 TEU of Cat Lai Terminal, holds 75% of the total throughput, up 1.5% in 2011. In term of Cai Mep Terminals, including Tan Cang-Cai Mep Terminal and Tan Cang-Cai Mep International Terminal, the total output reached an impressive increase of 62.7%.

Being the first terminal that hit the record of 3 million TEU, SNP continues to prove its sustainable growth and development.
