Saigon Newport Corporation participates and accompanies Vietnam International Rice Festival 2023

The Vietnam Rice Industry Festival in Hau Giang, organized jointly by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnam Farmers' Union, and Hau Giang Province, is a series of events consisting of domestic and international competitions, seminars, with the participation of 32 countries with strong trade relations with Vietnam in the rice industry. The exhibition activities, which hosted 500 booths, fostered opportunities for exchanges, collaborations, and promoted trade advancement in the agricultural sector, enhancing competitiveness for Vietnamese rice enterprises in the international market.

The Opening Ceremony of the International Rice Festival was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and representatives of central authorities, localities, domestic and international organizations. Representing SNP was Major General Phung Ngoc Minh - Deputy General Director, along with the management and command units of participating subsidiary companies.

The Vietnam International Rice Industry Festival - Hau Giang 2023 opens opportunities to showcase the potential and strengths of rice production, grain quality, and stimulates national rice trade. Simultaneously, it serves as an opportunity for Vietnam to convey a message to the world about its responsibility for global food and agricultural sustainability.

At the event, SNP introduced its ecosystem of port-logistics integrated on the 'green transportation' platform, aiming to provide rice packaging and transport services by barges from Mekong Delta ports to gateway ports in Ho Chi Minh City (Cat Lai Port, Hiệp Phước Port) and ports in Cai Mep - Ba Ria Vung Tau (TCIT, TCTT) for exports. Additionally, SNP also presented optimization solutions for cost and the development of logistics potential in the Mekong Delta region, focusing on sustainability.

SNP accompanies rice industry enterprises, providing logistics solutions, cost optimization, and bringing ports closer to customers' warehouses. With the solution of transporting containers by barges - a sustainable green transport solution - from river ports in the Mekong Delta to international seaports, SNP contributes to reducing emissions.

Currently, about 90% of the Mekong Delta rice output is exported through ports in HCMC and Cai Mep. Rice products are packed into containers and transported by barges provided by Tan Cang Waterway Transport (unit of the SNP system), optimizing transportation means and providing end-to-end logistics solutions, saving time and costs for enterprises. Recently, SNP has collaborated with shipping companies and Maersk, the pioneering shipping company opening codes, to bring empty containers to Mekong Delta ports to directly supply empty containers to customers at TC Cai Cui terminal, TC Thot Not terminal, TC Sa Dec terminal, TC Cao Lanh terminal, and TC Giao Long terminal.

The SNP system provides rice packaging services from barges to containers at facilities such as Tan Cang Cat Lai terminal, Tan Cang Nhon Trach ICD, Tan Cang Hiep Phuoc terminal, and Mekong Delta port facilities (Tan Cang Cai Cui, Tan Cang Thot Not, Tan Cang Sa Dec...), leveraging geographical advantages and economic potential of the Western region's rivers and waterways. The SNP system's ports in the Mekong Delta region are expected to develop into a container'marketplace, attracting domestic and foreign fleets, facilitating inland container transportation and international import-export goods, significantly contributing to developing logistics centers in the Mekong Delta region.

In the context of economic challenges, the Vietnam International Rice Industry Festival in Hau Giang 2023 is a significant event that affirms the sustainable development of Vietnam's rice exports.
