Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) meets customers of the reefer commodities

On 24th July, Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) held a cordial meeting in Tan Cang Resort to meet customers of the reefer commodities, shipping lines and representatives of Cat Lai customs.

Representatives of SNP has expressed sincere gratitude to the customer for their strong support and informed customers about the development direction of SNP in the near future. In the fact of the economy crisis in general and the difficulties of seafood businesses in particular, the seafood exports in the first six months of this year has reached $ 2.8 billion increasing 10.6%. The reefer containers through Cat Lai terminal thus increased approximately 9% in the first six months. This result has made thanks to the efforts of the staffs, employees to innovate and improve the service quality of service and thanks to the trust of the customers in SNP. Foreseeing the importance of fisheries exports, SNP always focused on upgrading and repairing the reefer container area as well as equipment investment aiming at giving customers the best service quality. According to the SNP’s plan, in the third week of August 2012, the reefer area in Cat Lai Terminal will upgrade the yard and the foundation of the existing electricity frames. To meet the power demand, a new electricity transformer station of 1.500 KVA will be installed during this time. The upgrading of Depot 6 which is used for the storage of the reefer empty containers will be completed in the end of September this year. It is planned that upon the completion, the reefer area will have 1,426 reefer plugs including 1, 252 plugs for the laden import, export containers and 174 plugs for PTI & M & R work. It is essential for SNP to improve the facility of reefer area in Cat Lai to meet the increasing demand of the seafood and fruit export in the late months of the year.
