Tan Cang Hai Phong International container terminal (TC-HICT) welcomes the maiden call of M/V CSCL Bohai Sea

On Apr 27th 2020, Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal Co., Ltd (TC-HICT) successfully welcomes the maiden call of mother vessel CSCL BOHAI SEA deployed by COSCO Shipping Lines on the new service ACCI, which provides direct service from Hai Phong to California, USA..

Mother vessel CSCL BOHAI SEA, which has the deadweight of 121,824 DWT, capacity of 10,036 TEU and LOA of 335 meters,  is one of 12 container svessels operated on a weekly Trans-Pacific service with the following rotation: TC-HICT – Shanghai – Ningbo - Long Beach – Oakland - Lianyungang – Shanghai – Ningbo– Shekou – Nansha – Singapore- Port Kelang- Nhava Sheva– Karachi – Colombo - Laem Chabang – TC-HICT. This ACCI service facilitates the continuous cargo flow from the North of Vietnam to the west coast of USA without transshipping at oversea hubs as previously. Thus, it helps customers to significantly reduce logistics costs and take initiative in delivery of goods without risks at transshipment hubs.



TC-HICT highly appreciates the trust and support of COSCO Shipping Lines as it continues to deploy the new service at the terminal amid the Covid-19  developments severely affecting both the domestic and international economies; this is really a leverage to promote the ascending prosperous trade between Vietnam, India, China and the United States. TC-HICT will continuously strive to further improve the service quality to meet the customers’ demand and contributing to the development of seaport system in Hai Phong area in particular and in Northern Vietnam in general.



Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal (TC-HICT) – a joint venture between Saigon Newport Corporation, MITSUI O.S.K Lines Ltd. (Japan), Wan Hai Lines Ltd. (Taiwan) and Itochu Group (Japan), started operation since May 13th, 2018. TC-HICT is the first deep sea terminal of Northern key economic region with two main berths of 750m in length, channel depth of minus 13.4m, turning basin diameter of 660m.  The terminal is equipped with modern synchronized facilities including 6 STS cranes which are the biggest in Vietnam, 24 eRTG cranes, 2 slewing cranes for the barge berth, along with modern operation system “TOPS-Expert” and electronic port systems “ePORT”, “eDO”. TC-HICT can accommodate mother vessels of 12,000 TEU capacity, 132,000 DWT, the annual container throughput could reach 1.1 million TEU.
