March 28th 2022, Tan Cang - Hai Phong International Container Terminal welcome service CI7 from Wanhai Lines, connecting Northern China, Viet Nam and India East Coast. This is one of the plans to strengthen and expand the Intra-Asia service network of Wan Hai shipping line to meet the increasing import and export demand from Vietnam.

The first ship departs at TC-HICT port named CAPE FARO, with a capacity of up to 1,440 TEUs, 170m of LOA. This is one of four container ships of Wan Hai shipping line operating independently and regularly in Inner Asia, connecting Vietnam with China and India on the voyage TCHICT - Zhanjiang - Nansha - Cat Lai - Port Klang - Chennai route - Vizag - Port Klang - TCHICT. Currently, Wan Hai is the 10th largest shipping line in the world operating a fleet of 147 ships with a capacity of 420,000 Teu and has an expanding shipping network from Asia to the United States, Canada, the Middle East and Africa.

This opening event of the CI7 service marks the market expansion process of Wan Hai shipping line as well as the increasing demand of import and export goods in the Northern region. Wan Hai's choice to bring ships into TC-HICT port once again affirms the prestige and service quality as well as the port's operating capacity.

In the coming time, TC-HICT will continue to invest in more modern equipments to increase the productivity of loading and unloading ships, improve the service quality, and meet the increasing requirements of shipping lines and customers in TC-HICT. Thereby enhancing the brand name of Tan Cang – Hai Phong International Container Terminal - the first deep water port in the North.
