Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal set a new handling record per mother vessel ALS CERES LOA 260m and 54,331 DWT

Over the past, the lack of empty containers and the rising shipping rates causing to difficulties for import and export activities. The reason is caused by the number of containers being distributed inappropriately due to the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Therefore, the BAL shipping line (BAL) operated the M/V ALS CERES (LOA 260m and 54,331 DWT) to TCHP on March 21, 2022, imported 2,074 empty containers (equivalent to 3,787 TEUs). Consequently, meeting the demands of empty containers for customers in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai province, Binh Duong province, and the Mekong Delta area.

To achieve this success, TCHP has closely coordinated with Tan Cang Pilot to develop a pilot plan for maritime safety ensuring. Accordingly, TCHP successfully set a new highest handling record with NET productivity of 137 containers/hour. Also, it marked the 4th mother vessel with LOA >260m and >50,000 DWT safely called TCHP (The previous recorded by 3 vessels by ZIM Lines, PIL and CU Lines.)

With this accomplishment, TCHP continues to affirm its position as "one in seven logistics centers of Ho Chi Minh City" according to the "Development Plan for Logistics Industry in Ho Chi Minh City to 2025 and the vision for 2030". Simultaneously, it gradually created the routine of cargo delivery for customers in the critical economic regions of the South (in HCMC) and the Mekong Delta.
