09/04/2025
On April 9, 2025, Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Port (TCHP) successfully welcomed the Mild Symphony vessel. This vessel operates on the SSX service line, jointly operated by Shanghai Jinjiang (SJJ) and Matson. The vessel’s route includes Ho Chi Minh City – Shanghai – Long Beach (U.S. West Coast) with a weekly frequency. This is the first container vessel to arrive at TCHP after the launch of the service line in Shanghai 6 days ago.
The launch of the SSX service line is expected to contribute to boosting import and export trade between countries in the Asia-Pacific region and the United States.
The SSX service line facilitates the movement of goods from Ho Chi Minh City to the U.S. West Coast in just 17 days. This is a fast and efficient transportation solution for customers, especially for import-export businesses looking to enter the North Asian and U.S. markets.
The Mild Symphony vessel, part of the SSX service line, arrives at TCHP port. The welcoming of the first vessel on the SSX service line highlights the successful collaboration between Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) and the two shipping lines, SJJ and Matson. This also marks a strategic step toward expanding the international service network from TCHP.
In addition to this important event, TCHP has been operating 8 long-term service lines, connecting the port with ports in China, Thailand, the Philippines, South Korea, and the United States. These services are in collaboration with various international shipping lines such as SITC, Taicang Shipping, Ningbo Ocean Shipping, Hede Shipping, Sinolines, RCL, SJJ, Matson, KMTC, CK Lines, and STX Pan Ocean. These services operate steadily, ensuring production schedules are maintained and offering customers more shipping options while maintaining international service standards.

Mr. Zhang Xiaoli, Head Representative of SJJ shipping line, speaks at the event.
Strategically located in the southern region, and considered the "extended arm" of Tan Cang – Cat Lai Terminal, TCHP plays an important role in reducing congestion and connecting the flow of goods from downtown Ho Chi Minh City to key economic areas.
With infrastructure projects such as the Ben Luc – Long Thanh expressway and the Ho Chi Minh City Beltway 3 nearing completion, TCHP is set to become a key logistics hub. This will help shorten transit times, optimize costs, and enhance the competitive advantage for shipping lines and businesses in Vietnam.
