Tan Cang Petro Cam Ranh successfully handles project cargo vessel serving the North–South railway project
18/03/2026
On March 18, 2026, Cam Ranh International Port (TCPC), a member company within the Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) system, officially received and implemented a dedicated cargo-handling process for the Lan Hai Fang Zhou, a Panama-flagged vessel transporting imported railway project cargo from China.
This shipment represents a critical equipment supply for the 2025–2030 plan to renovate and upgrade the existing North–South railway system, with the key cargo consisting of 2,000 rail tracks, each measuring up to 25 meters in length. Immediately after berthing, the cargo was handled under a coordinated operational plan jointly implemented by TCPC’s planning, operations, and technical teams together with specialized contractors, ensuring the direct discharge of cargo from vessel to storage yard in a safe manner and in compliance with stringent preservation standards for railway equipment. These rail tracks will subsequently be transported for installation on the strategic railway corridor connecting Gia Lai and Lam Dong, thereby contributing directly to the progress of completing the country’s key transport infrastructure.

Tan Cang Petro Cam Ranh leverages its integrated port and logistics service capability
TCPC currently holds a distinct advantage in both location and operational infrastructure. The port is situated on the Cam Ranh Peninsula, approximately 50 nautical miles from the international shipping lane, 6 nautical miles from the pilot boarding and disembarkation area, around 20 kilometers from Cam Ranh International Airport, and approximately 40 kilometers from Nha Trang.

Overview of TCPC
The port system has a total quay length of 2,177 meters, an average depth of approximately -20 meters, a 700-meter turning basin, and the capability to accommodate cargo vessels of up to 70,000 DWT and passenger vessels of up to 225,000 GT. This provides a solid foundation for TCPC to simultaneously develop commercial cargo handling, project cargo, logistics services, marine services, and international vessel reception. In addition to its standard-compliant berths, TCPC also has 2,160 square meters of warehouse space and 7.5 hectares of cargo yard area, meeting long-term storage requirements and supporting post-port logistics solutions for project cargo.

Diversifying the service ecosystem: affirming its position as a key operating port and logistics infrastructure hub
Looking ahead, TCPC is committed to continuously maximizing the advantages of its deep-water port in order to accompany major national infrastructure projects. The safe and on-schedule execution of project cargo vessel calls serves as an important stepping stone for TCPC to further expand its customer base, not only in the project cargo segment but also particularly in the military vessel and luxury international cruise segments. At the same time, TCPC will concentrate all available resources on strengthening connectivity with the port and logistics ecosystem of SNP in order to deliver optimal logistics solutions for renewable energy projects, key regional infrastructure developments, and other strategic projects receiving investment attention from the Government.
