On 21st February 2011, the ceremony of signing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Saigon Newport Corporation and Dong Thap province to cooperate in developing economy and attending social activities was organized at conference room No. 1. Attending at the ceremony, the delegations of SNP, there were Senior Colonel Nguyen Dang Nghiem – General Director, Vice General Directors, and other representatives from function departments. Representatives for Dong Thap province, there were Mr. Le Vinh Tan – member of the Central Communist Party Committee, Provincial Party Committee Secretary, Mr. Le Minh Hoan – Provincial President, Mr. Nguyen Ton Hoang – Vice President, and more than 40 leaders of provincial departments, committees, and youth union.

There were two MOU signed in the ceremony. The first MOU relating to agreements of economic cooperation signed by Senior Colonel Nguyen Dang Nghiem – General Director of SNP and Mr. Le Minh Hoan – Provincial President. Under this MOU, Dong Thap authority will commission Transport Tan Cang 2 Joint-stock company – a subsidiary of SNP to exploit three local ports including Sa Dec Seaport, Tran Quoc Toan port, and Sa Dec river port in 20 years. Dong Thap People’s Committee will give SNP preferences to research the port development projects in Hau river bank, Hong Ngu port, border gate economic zones, ICDs, and local logistics centers. SNP will support Dong Thap Trading and Petrol One-member Co., Ltd to contact with leaders of Navy Service and Navy leaders at Area 5 to open petrol dump in Phu Quoc Island. After taking over these ports, SNP will entrust Transport Tan Cang 2 Joint-stock company to invest one gantry crane, two container forklifts, two prime movers, five trailers in Sa Dec port and Tran Quoc Toan port; and deploy container barging line connecting the two former ports with Tan Cang – Cat Lai terminal, deep seaport Tan Cang – Cai Mep, Phnom Penh port (Cambodia) and other ports located at Mekong Delta. In company with this MOU, the second MOU relating to cooperation in youth activities in 2011 – 2012 was signed by Mr. Pham Duc Hung – representatives of SNP’s Youth Union and Ms. Huynh Thi Hoai Thu – Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Group. The two MOU opened up opportunities of total cooperation in economic and social fields in the future. After the signing ceremony, SNP and delegations of Dong Thap province joined in a warm evening party to strengthen solidarity, mutual friendship, and cooperation for together developments.
