The conference to summarize the preliminary results of the one - month topx going-live at cat lai port

In the moring of August 6th 2008, more than 200 participants representing the Operation Centre and the departments, enterprises being in charge of the TOPX deployment and implementation were present at the conference. It has been reported that TOPX has made a considerable contribution to enhancing the service quality at Cat Lai port as well as at the other premises of SNP

In the moring of August 6th 2008, more than 200 participants representing the Operation Centre and the departments, enterprises being in charge of the TOPX deployment and implementation were present at the conference. It has been reported that TOPX has made a considerable contribution to enhancing the service quality at Cat Lai port as well as at the other premises of SNP. At present, the exact container movements and locations are being tracked in the real time. The current average port-stay productivity is 2 to 3 containers more than the one handled before the TOPX went live. TOPX has brought the special efficiency to the CY internal movement and the delivery/receipt of the containers. The average time for inner-terminal container transport has been shortened and being only half of the previous one. The average delivery/receipt time for one container has reduced from 1.96 hour/ cont to 1.13 hour/ cont.

In the speech delivered at the conference, the SNP’s General Director Nguyen Dang Nghiem highly commended the departments and individuals on their efforts and determination to overcome the difficulties during the preliminary TOPX running time. He has also stressed the importance of technology and knowledge in the management and operation of the terminals in the world economy intergration time. To ensure the safely of the operation activities, up to the present time, TOPX has been deployed only in the management and operation of the container receipt/delivery at the warehouses and CY as well as the management of CY handling and vessel discharging at Terminal A. In the time to come, the application of TOPX to the vessel discharging at Terminal B and to the loading process at both Terminals. The methods for the system risk prevention and requirement for the management and training and the compulsory necessity for the exact data input have been discussed.

The implementation of TOPX is considered as a milestone in the history of the terminal operation of SNP. The preliminary achievements have expressed the right and comprehensive leadership of the Party Committee and Board of Directors, the dynamics, enthusiasm and responsibility spirit of the cadres, soldiers and staffs of SNP.
