The grand opening ceremony of Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal

On May 19th, 2015, at Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park (Nha Be dist., HCMC), Saigon Newport Corporation held the grand opening ceremony of Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal - the 14th terminal of Saigon Newport's network. This event received much interest from customers, the government and press.
Among the attendance, there were Mr. Nguyen Huu Tin - Vice President of HCMC People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Van Cong - Vice Minister of Transport, Admiral Nguyen Van Hien - Vice Minister of Defense, Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Nghiem - President of Saigon Newport Corporation, board of directors of Saigon Newport Corporation, representatives of Saigon Newport's subsidiaries, customers, central and local press.
Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal has the strategic location at the intersection between the key economic area at the South of HCMC and Mekong Delta, it is also located at the confluence of Soai Rap River and Dong Dien River. The distance between the new terminal and Tan Cang - Cat Lai Terminal is 19km by land and 18km by waterway, the new terminal is 23km away from center of HCMC.
In accordance with the eastward development of Hochiminh City, Saigon Newport Corporation has built Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal since Deceber 2013. The first phase with 12.05ha CY, 300m berth, 253m barge berth was finished in December 2014. The second phase with 6.2ha CY and 120m berth was quickly constructed and finished in May 2015, 6 months earlier than planned. This is the effort of SNP's staff and the close direction of directors, to show the determination to expand the system, complete the supply chain, improve productivity, to contribute to the socioeconomic development of Vietnam.
The opening of Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal is celebration of the 40th anniversary of Vietnam Liberation Day. When operated, this terminal is considered the "extension" of Cat Lai Terminal, and the connecting point for import and export of the area. This event not only marks the operation of a SNP sea port at the South of HCMC, but also allows SNP to receive all ship sizes, to affirm the development strategy based on 3 core businesses: Port operation, Logistics services and Domestic Shipping.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Nghiem committed the cooperation between SNP's premises and local authorities and other local port to ensure service quality and smooth operation.
