The visit of the vice chairman of Vietnam’s national assembly to Cat Lai port

In the morning of August 11, 2008, the National Assembly Delegation headed by its Vice Chairman , Mr. Uong Chu Luu – member of the Party Central Committee paid a call on Cat Lai port during his schedule to work with the Ho Chi Minh city customs department

In the morning of August 11, 2008, the National Assembly Delegation headed by its Vice Chairman , Mr. Uong Chu Luu – member of the Party Central Committee paid a call on Cat Lai port during his schedule to work with the Ho Chi Minh city customs department. In the first 7 months of 2008, the customs of Ho Chi Minh city have collected and delivered VND 28,085 billion to the budget, achieving 74.9 % of the estimated plan for the year. The source of tax revenue from Tan Cang and Cat Lai has made an important part to the aforementioned general amount. The National Assembly Delegation appreciated Cat Lai’s role in the economic growth of the South in particular and of Vietnam in general.

During the site visit to the berths, Container Yard and warehouses of Saigon New Port, the vice chairman paid high attention to the volume, handling productivity, the yard occupancy as well as the SNP’s orientation for the terminal advanced equipment investment and facility development. He emphasized that along with the the concentration on the state-of-the-art technology and knowledge of the terminal management and operation to keep the leading terminal operation position in Vietnam, SNP should always carry out the training duties for the fulfillment of the military tasks. The delegation has been to the control tower and informed about the TOPX, an advanced terminal operation system and its efficiency upon the application to the port management and operation.
