Upgrading IT system to meet Customers' Demand

On 23rd October, 2007, Mr. H.K Shin – General Director Assistant - Manager of STX Pan Ocean IT division and the managing Director of MACS shipping – Representative of STX pan Ocean in Vietnam had a meeting with representatives of SNP’s IT Department. Mr. Shin raised many questions relating to management system of port, warehouse and CY of SNP as well as system development and renovation plan.

On 23rd October, 2007, Mr. H.K Shin – General Director Assistant - Manager of STX Pan Ocean IT division and the managing Director of MACS shipping – Representative of STX pan Ocean in Vietnam had a meeting with representatives of SNP’s IT Department. Mr. Shin raised many questions relating to management system of port, warehouse and CYof SNP as well as system development and renovation plan. He also showed his interest in the IT infrastructure in Vietnam. He was worried that if Vietnam did not have a perfect IT infrastructure, network congestion or disconnection would cause heavy damages to the terminal operation, especially when Saigon Newport and shipping lines are targeting at the automation of data exchange system through EDI as in the present time. SNP informed the delegation about its plan to put the new terminal operation software (TOS) into operation in march, 2008. This is the software supplied by RBS (Real Business Solution) – An Australian company professionalized in the terminal operation software. SNP has invested USD 3 million in upgrading its IT system (software and hardware). and investments for the container terminal and management software of the Company. In the coming time SNP plans to buy the new software for the warehouses and logistics operation management.
