In the morning of June 25th, 2019, at Tan Cang - Cat Lai terminal, the conference introducing Electronic Delivery Order (eDO) software through Excel and Web Services has been held by Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP).

In the morning of June 25th, 2019, at Tan Cang - Cat Lai terminal, the conference introducing Electronic Delivery Order (eDO) software through Excel and Web Services has been held by Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP). Attending the conference, there were Captain Nguyen Nang Toan – Vice President of SNP, E-port operation team, leaders of related departments and subsidiaries of SNP and representatives of Shipping lines and Shipping lines agency

SNP has mandatorily applied E-port on lift-off laden container services since Jan 1st, 2017 and imported containers since Jan 2018. The application of E-port has had remarkable impact in reducing the waiting time at gate by 65% and speeding up vehicle turnover rate, reducing mistakes comparing to declaration by hand. Importantly, SNP has successfully applied eDO on Shipping lines of Maersk Group (Maersk SeaLand, Safmarine) in 2018 and received positive feedbacks about the utilities of the software. In order to meet the demands of customers and shipping agents regarding the use of eDO for delivering imported  cargoes while the system structures of shipping lines remain different, ordering through eDO is extremely difficult. However, the operation team of eDO has worked on various methods of exchanging information with Shipping lines and Shipping agents, ensuring the quick application pace of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).

Speaking at the conference opening, Mr. Nguyen Nang Toan emphasized the convenience and efficiency of the software for shipping lines and customers, as well as presenting the expectation that shipping lines and agents would actively co-operate so as to complete the application of eDO on all shipping lines by Oct, 2019.

At the conference, representative of the E-port team introduced 3 methods of connecting and interchanging data with shipping lines: order through EDI (COREOR); direct declaration on WEB; connecting systems. Representatives of the Terminal also gave instruction in signing up for eDO and proclaim information on the system. At the conference, representatives raised various questions regarding the confirmation of automatic data, separation of Master Bill, declaration of joint owned containers, special containers (flat-rack, Breakbulk) and received answers immediately at the event. Shipping lines and agents appreciate the constant improvement of SNP in increasing utilities for customers and services quality; as well as presenting the will to co-operate with SNP in regard to the application of eDO in the following time.
