Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal welcomed the maiden call of the first independent service of CU Lines

On June 3, 2022, Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc terminal (TCHP) welcomed the maiden call HAI SU 6, which belongs to the new service CV3 operated by China United Lines (CU Lines). In the context of China has begun to loosen the Covid-19 pandemic' blockade solutions, the CV3 service considerably expands the supply chain connecting Vietnam and China and partially restores production activities in the new situation.

CV3 is the first service that CU Lines operates independently at Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc terminal (TCHP), with the maiden call HAI SU 6 arriving at TCHP on June 3, 2022.

Vessel HAI SU 6 has a capacity of 698 TEUs, LOA 129.6m, with the voyage: NANSHA - SHEKOU - TCHP - NANSHA.

CU Lines ranked 22nd within the top 30 International Container Shipping Companies in 2021. Incorporated in September 2005 in Yangpu, Hainan and headquartered in Shanghai. By 2021, CULines has launched over 30 container liner routes, covering 48 significant ports in 20 countries and regions such as intra-Asian markets such as China, Vietnam and long-distance services connecting directly to Europe and America.

Over the years, CU Lines has ever accompanied, developed, and supported Saigon Newport system from North to South.

  • In the northern region: CU Lines deploys two services at Tan Cang 128 - Hai Phong terminal (TC128).
  • In the southern region: CU Lines operates one service at Tan Cang - Cat Lai terminal, one service at Tan Cang - Cai Mep Thi Vai terminal (TCTT) and two services at Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc terminal (TCHP).

In the context of the Chinese government has begun to loosen the blockade solutions after more than two months of preventing the Covid-19 epidemic in major cities, the CV3 service operated with a frequency of 1 trip/week at TCHP has significant meanings

  • Maintains the volume of imports and exports between Vietnam and China, that promptly meet the market's demand.
  • Contributes to the efforts to revive the supply chain and production in critical regions of China.
Moreover, this maiden call also carries a part of the export cargoes from Vietnam to the U.S (transit at NANSHA port).

The second quarter of 2022 significantly marks the success of TCHP by shipping lines continuously operating new services (before that, the Alliance - NBOS and BAL operated new service CV1 in April 2022; one month later, Zhonggu operated the CV3 service in May 2022). This is proof of the trust and support of shipping lines/agents and customers to TCHP in Intra-Asia service. In addition, TCHP also receives bulk carriers and general cargo carriers…

With the ability to attract new services to meet the diverse needs of shipping lines and customers, TCHP increasingly affirms its capacity and importance as an "extension arm" of Tan Cang - Cai Lai terminal in the critical areas of the south in Ho Chi Minh city.
