12/10/2016
This information was confirmed by Dr Doan Duy Khuong, Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), and Mr Liu Guangxi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Department of Commerce and Chairman of CCPIT Yunnan, China at a recent meeting in Hanoi. The meeting took place during the visit to Vietnam of the Chinese business delegation..
At the meeting, Mr Meng affirmed that Yunnan attaches great importance to friendly cooperative relations with Vietnamese localities. In the coming time, the two sides will enhance exchanges and promote intensive cooperation, thus helping strengthen Vietnam - China ties.
He added that this business delegation, comprised of 10 businesspeople, will survey some localities in Vietnam to seek opportunities of cooperation and investment. He hoped that after this survey more companies from both sides will establish cooperation, invest in tourism and promote export and import.
Concurring with this view, VCCI Vice President Doan Duy Khuong said that the two sides have a lot of potential and opportunities for cooperation especially when the two countries are near. Vietnam is a bridge for Yunnan companies to penetrate into the ASEAN region. Meanwhile, Yunnan companies will be the “gateway” for Vietnamese products to make inroads into the Chinese market. In the coming time, Vietnam will give priority to projects engaged in high technologies, supporting industries, agriculture and sectors where it has competitive advantages.
Also at the meeting, he proposed both sides need specific, practical cooperation programmes, strengthen friendly exchanges, effectively carry out existing cooperation mechanisms, broaden information dissemination, and promote investment to introduce advantages, potential and cooperation opportunities of Vietnamese localities and Yunnan province.
In the coming time, VCCI will continue to coordinate with Lao Cai province-based enterprises to boost trade and expand import and export with Yunnan.
