[SNP - #ONTHISDAY] 20th Feb, 2015| GO LIVE TOPOVN - THE CONTAINER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AT TAN CANG CAT LAI TERMINAL

TOPOVN software officially operated on February of 20, 2015 - marking a strong breakthrough in the field of applying information technology to port operations, contributing to a 12% increase in ship release productivity, reducing more than 50% of delivery time at the yard for customers. TOPOVN is also the premise for developing Eport - the first electronic port system in Vietnam.

In 2008, Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) put into operation the TOPX Container Exploitation System (Australia), along with the expansion of member facilities, contributing to increasing the system's output from 2 million TEUs (2008) up to 4.59 million TEU (2014), equivalent to an increase of 129.5%. Along with the output growth, SNP also has to face technological challenges when the CMS container management software is approaching productivity and gradually becoming outdated.

Realizing the limitations in production and technology in the current management software CMS, insufficient capacity to process data on a large scale... The company's leaders have directed the IT Department to quickly research and upgrade the new management system to better meet the production needs of the unit and the growth of the domestic container market at that time.

On February 20, 2015, SNP officially launched the new container management system - TOPOVN to replace the old container management software CMS. The total investment for the implementation of the TOPOVN system project is $1.1 million. The TOPOVN is an improved product derived from the TOPO system developed jointly by RBS and TCIS (Tan Cang IT Solution Joint Stock Company) specifically for SNP.

The operation of the new system has contributed to reducing the container inspection time at the yard and the gate-out process from 2 to 3 hours to just 50 minutes/container, significantly reducing traffic congestion, traffic jams, and environmental pollution. At that time in 2015, Tan Cang Cat Lai Terminal was the FIRST PORT to implement this modern software across the country!
