In the first six months of 2026, the country’s total import-export turnover increased by 27.1% year on year, driving continued expansion in demand for maritime transport and logistics services. In the Cai Mep – Thi Vai area, container throughput reached 3.9 million TEU, an increase of 9.2%, while 53 international shipping services continued to provide direct connections to major markets in the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
Within this growth landscape, TCIT has not only accommodated increasing cargo flows but has also contributed to enhancing the competitiveness of the Cai Mep – Thi Vai port cluster through its operational efficiency, connectivity and service quality, thereby strengthening the position of Vietnam’s strategic maritime gateway on international shipping routes.

Direct container delivery and receipt times through the terminal gates have been shortened, saving customers both time and costs.
In July 2026, TCIT received and handled 45 mother-vessel calls across 13 shipping services directly connecting Vietnam with its key import-export markets, including the Americas, Europe and intra-Asia destinations. The terminal also handled 13 domestic feeder calls and 83 feeder calls serving Cambodian transshipment cargo. Vessel productivity exceeded 138 container moves per hour per vessel, while the average gate turnaround time was maintained at 15 minutes per container.
These indicators not only reflect TCIT’s operational efficiency but also demonstrate its ability to maintain service quality even during periods of substantial throughput growth. This is a key factor enabling the terminal to continue earning the trust of shipping lines, customers and logistics partners throughout the region.
