Opening Terminal B - Tan Cang Cai Mep

On March 31 2022, at Cai Mep Industrial Park, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, Tan Cang - Cai Mep Joint Stock Company (TCCT) belongs to Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) and KCTC Vietnam Co., Ltd (KCTC Viet Nam) held the opening ceremony of Terminal B - Tan Cang Cai Mep. Attending were Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy General Director of Saigon Newport Corporation, and Mr. Kim Yong Chul, representative of the Korean Customs Counselor in Vietnam.

The delegates were present: Mr. Kim Yong Chul, representative of the Korean Customs Counselor in Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sang, Deputy Director General of the Customs Department of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province; Mr. Nguyen Duc Hanh, Deputy Director of the Cai Mep Port Customs Branch; Mr. Park Hyun Bae, General Director of KCTC Vietnam and representatives of functional agencies of Saigon Newport Corporation and officers, employees and workers of Tan Cang Cai Mep Terminal.
With the strategic goal of "Expanding Joint Venture - Association; Improve Quality Serving; Effective Business," TCCT signed a cooperation agreement with KCTC Vietnam in 2020, successfully received, loaded and unloaded many vessels carrying Oversized Cargo and Overweight Cargo shipments in Cai Mep area, and performed full-service logistics for factories and enterprises in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

Terminal B - Tan Cang Cai Mep has an area of 6.8 hectares of warehouse at address 10, road 965, Cai Mep industrial park, Tan Phuoc ward, Phu My town under the management, administration and organization of services and operate the direct policy system of the two companies. Currently, the project has completed phase 1 and has been recognized by the General Department of Customs as a place to gather, inspect and supervise exported and imported goods on an area of 35,000m2 and 4,000m2 of bonded warehouses. 
 
Being identified as an "extension yard" of Tan Cang Cai Mep terminal, Terminal B - Tan Cang Cai Mep was put into operation to store long-standing backlogged imported goods containers, temporary containers waiting for import and export, and carry out empty container services, cargo handling services, cargo inspection services, expanding cargo capacity, sharing and limiting the risk of port congestion, ensuring ship clearance productivity and providing the best service quality to customers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Kim Yong Chul, representative of the Korean Customs Counselor in Vietnam, congratulated the cooperation of the two growing enterprises. Mr. Kim Yong Chul emphasized that the opening event of Terminal B-Tan Cang Cai Mep continues to affirm and solidify the 30-year friendship relationship between Vietnam and Korea. He believes that when Terminal B-Tan Cang Cai Mep comes into operation, it will support the import and export activities of goods more conveniently, contributing to the goal of reaching 100 billion USD in Vietnam's trade turnover - South Korea.

Cooperation between Tan Cang Cai Mep Port and KCTC Vietnam will contribute to promoting the strengths of the parties, to optimize the benefits of the expansion and upgrading of infrastructure, to meet the increasing needs of customers, not only in the Cai Mep area, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in particular, the southern key economic region in general, but also to the economic and social prestige and brand Saigon Newport in connecting the logistics chain in the southern region.
