On March 28, 2025, Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for strategic cooperation with Phuoc An Port (PAP). This milestone marks a significant step in expanding an integrated port and logistics ecosystem in Southern Vietnam.
Attendees included Mr. Ngo Minh Thuan, President of SNP; Mr. Truong Hoang Hai, General Director of PAP; along with executives, representatives from regulatory agencies, subsidiaries of both corporations, and over 400 customers, including import-export companies, shipping lines, and business partners.
Strategically located in Dong Nai Province along the Thi Vai River, Phuoc An Port (PAP) boasts excellent connectivity by both waterway and road to Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, and other key economic hubs in Southern Vietnam. With favorable channel conditions, the port can accommodate vessels of up to 4,500 TEUs and offers seamless access to major industrial zones.
SITC has pioneered vessel operations at PAP by deploying the M/V SITC MINHE, handling an import-export volume of 400 TEUs. This vessel was previously operated exclusively at Tan Cang - Cat Lai Terminal (by Saigon Newport Corporation).
A Vision for Sustainable Growth
SNP’s strategic collaboration with PAP in port operations, logistics services, and depot management is a forward-thinking initiative aimed at sustainable development. This partnership, coupled with industrial zone expansions and related services, will enhance global competitiveness and long-term growth for both entities.
With a commitment to close cooperation, SNP and PAP will implement synchronized and advanced logistics solutions, optimizing operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness for shipping lines and customers. This initiative not only meets the growing demand for international trade in Southern Vietnam but also strengthens connectivity among key regional ports.
The MoU signing mark the beginning of a long-term strategic partnership between SNP and PAP. Both companies are dedicated to streamlining operational procedures, ensuring service excellence, and offering competitive incentives for shipping lines and customers. This collaboration will unlock new opportunities for businesses in port operations and logistics services, further solidifying Vietnam’s position in the global supply chain.
