Tan Cang - Cai Mep JSC. was established on October 14, 2007, with the principal purpose of organizing and operating Tan Cang - Cai Mep Container Terminal (TCCT), and the vision of becoming an essential connection in the logistics system of Saigon Newport Corporation at Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
Tan Cang - Cai Mep JSC. officially opened Tan Cang - Cai Mep Container Terminal (TCCT) on June 3, 2009, making it Vietnam's first deep-water port. This was a significant turning point in the port operating history of Saigon Newport Corporation, as well as confirming the role and position of Vietnam's seaport system in the world, and creating a new direction for Vietnam's seaport industry on the path of international integration and growth.
