Tan Cang IT Solutions Joint Stock Company (TCIS) is formerly the IT Department of Saigon New Port Corporation (SNP). Founded in 1996, through 15 years of operation, the Department has successfully implemented and deployed many IT applications into the administration and operation of SNP. Notably the integration and deployment of TOPX - port management software (RBS Australia) with the existing container management software (CMS), has automated the port operation and utilization, increased productivity and greatly reduced the cargo clearance time. The Department has developed and efficiently deployed the CFS warehouse management software; computerized asset management, financial management and human resources management; implemented many value-added applications such as container location search via SMS and web; EDI data exchange with carriers and ship agents… all of which have heightened the service quality of the Corporation.
With those achievements, SNP has become the pioneer port operator in Vietnam which successfully applies computerization into the port operations and administration on a large scale, by which maintains its brand name and position as the leading professional container port operator and developer in Vietnam. Especially, SNP trademark has become a Vietnam Value and Cat Lai Terminal has been ranked among the world’s Top 40 busiest container ports.
To meet the increasing demands of research, application and deployment of IT solutions in the port industry, on November 15th 2010, SNP officially decided to establish TCIS.
