SNP’s president received award of Vietnam’s prominent business person 2016

On 11th October, 2016, the Emulation - Rewards Central Board and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vietnam (VCCI) held a ceremony to the launch of the movement “Vietnamese Enterprises –Developmentand Integration” and the awards ceremony of Thanh Giong Cup for Vietnam Prominent Business People in Hanoi.
Attending the ceremony, there were Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc – Member of the Politburo, Chairman of the Emulation – Rewards Central Board; Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan – Member of the Politburo, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee; Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh – Member of the Central Committee, Vice President and leaders from ministries, departments. Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Nghiem – President of Saigon Newport Corporation was honoured to receive the award at the ceremony.

The Vietnam Prominent Business Person is an award of Vietnam business Council to business leaders who are from many different types of economic fields under the laws of Vietnam and have contributed to the socio-economic development of the country and life improvement of employees. Over the decade, the Thanh Giong cup (symbol of The Vietnam Prominent Business Person award) has been granted for many individuals and enterprises with outstanding achievements to promote the process of innovation and the brand of these enterprises.
Being established in the renewal process of the country, Saigon Newport Corporation has become the leading port operator and logistics service provider in Vietnam. By maintaining the trust of the Party, Government, Ministry of Defence and the local authorities; building up the glorious tradition: “Solidarity, dynamic, innovation, successful completion of both defense and economic tasks”, SNP was honored to receive Labor medals and many prestigious rewards, in which SNP’s President, Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Nghiem, was honored to receive Labor Hero title. In 2016, the award of Prominent Business Person which Mr. Nguyen Dang Nghiem received has again affirmed the achievements that SNP has gained in the recent years and highlighted the leadership of the "the captain" Nguyen Dang Nghiem.

Making speech at the ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said that Vietnam is entering a new stage in which the economy is required to make a fundamental shift in quality, efficiency and competitiveness for successful integration and sustainable development. Vietnam needs to reach higher position in the global value chain and the developments must be based on innovation, advanced technology and high productivity. The Prime Minister noted to the businessmen that for achieving those goals , Vietnamese enterprises must play an important role.
Being a typical model of development based on innovation, advanced technology and high productivity, SNP has become the corporation strongly connected with continuous innovation and leading service quality, thus deserving to be the core of the national economics in general and maritime economics in particular.
