Quality enhancement in inbound and outbound transportation of Saigon Newport Corporation

In order to improve the quality of services to meet all of the customers’ requirements, on 15 August, 2011, The Transportation Operation Center from the Operation Center of Tan Cang Logistics (TCL) was transferred to Operation on Duty – Operation Center (OC) of Tan Cang - Cat Lai Terminal.

In order to improve the quality of services to meet all of the customers’ requirements, on 15 August, 2011, The Transportation Operation Center from the Operation Center of Tan Cang Logistics (TCL) was transferred to Operation on Duty – Operation Center (OC) of Tan Cang - Cat Lai Terminal. With this restructure, OC be able to manage directly the operation of container rotation of SNP and be expected to bring high performance to SNP since the following reasons:

Firstly, OC is responsible for container operation, vehicles transportation and handling time to set up outbound transportation plan (by waterway and road) for all routes. After that, OC will assign equipment, containers and routes to 5 Saigon Newport Corporation’ subsidiaries (Tan Cang – Song Than Co. Ltd., Tan Cang – Long Binh Investment and service Development Enterprise, Services and Newport First Agency and Service JSC, Tan Cang Number Two Shipping Line JSC, and Newport – Cypress JSC) so that cargos are transferred within SNP’s subsidiaries by road and waterway transportation smoothly.

Secondly, OC is also responsible for planning berthing schedule and supervising the operation of all container barges at Tan Cang - Cat Lai Terminal (TC-CL). In addition, the customs’ procedures for transferred containers from TC-CL to other SNP’s terminals are performed by Transportation Operation Center. Besides, another advantage of the restructure is that customers will be supported 24/7 by a team of officers on duty to resolve any problems or queries. Thanks to the born of the Transportation Operation Center which manages transportation plan, containers’ rotation and provides customers all of information about container transportation so that customers may get container transportation information at one department only.

The year of 2011 is evaluated to be a successful year of SNP in implementing appropriate orientations and customer policies, under the motto 4C, “Customers’ Care 24/7, Polite Communication, Convenience In Delivery and Cost Reduction” to provide customers with the best quality service. Together with expanding scope of business, SNP is continuously asserting its top position of container operator in Vietnam.
