Tan Cang - Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) received more service

On August 8th 2012, Tan Cang- Cai Mep International Terminal ( TCIT) solemnly organized the ceremony of receiving the first vessel of SVS service at TCIT- Vessel MOL Partner.

This is a joint service of Mitsui O.S.K Lines (MOL) & Evergreen. MOL deploys 9 vessels and Evergreen put one vessel into the service. The capacity of each vessel will be 4.500 to 5.600 TEU.

Thanks to this new service, shipper can have their cargoes transported from the Asian region (Vietnam/ South of China/Singapore) to the US East Coast. The rotation of the service will cover 14 terminals including Hong Kong – Yantian – Singapore – Suez Canal – Algeciras – Norfork – Savannah – Jacksonville – Charleston – Algeciras – Suez Canal – Singapore – Cái Mép – Hong Kong.

Up to the August of 2012, TCIT receives 6 vessels weekly. The volume of TCIT in the first 7 months of 2012 ranks the first among the deep sea terminals in Cai Mep Thi Vai area- accounting about 53% of the market share of the area. The average handling productivity has maintained well- over 100 containers/ vessel hour.

The achievements have been made by TCIT during over one past year has confirmed the efficient operation of TCIT which has brought the satisfactory and best benefits to the shipping lines/ consignees/ shippers in term of minimizing the port stay, petroleum cost as well as the convenience of the large logistic network connecting TCIT with Tan Cang Terminal, Tan Cang- Cat Lai Terminal, Dong Nai Terminal and the ICDs including Sotrans, Transimex, Tanamexco, Phuc Long & Phuoc Long.
