On Thursday (April 16, 2009), SNP had the honor to receive the high ranking delegation of Evergreen Group headed by Mr. Lin Long Hwa and Mr. Hsieh Chih-Chien – the two Group Vice Presidents. At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Dang Nghiem – General Director of SNP – had warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his heartfelt gratitude for close cooperation and crucial support from the group in general and from EMC in particular. It was reminded that Evergreen Vietnam (EGV) was one of the first shipping lines to use terminal services of SNP since 1992 and had always been in top 5 in terms of container throughput for the past many years. The General Director also provided the guests with the most updated information of Tan Cang – Cai Mep Container Terminal (phase 1) such as construction schedule and maiden call as well as the establishment progress of Tan Cang – Cai Mep International J/V Co. Furthermore, Mr. Nghiem suggested that Evergreen Group should consider investing in other joint venture projects at Tan Cang – Long Binh ICD (Dong Nai Province), Tan Cang – South Do Son Deepwater Port (Hai Phong Province) and Tan Cang New Urban Center (currently Tan Cang Terminal). In response, the delegates expressed their high appreciation for SNP’s achievements and impressive growth despite the global financial crisis. Mr. Lin and Mr. Hsieh also showed their interests in participating in several projects such as Tan Cang New Urban Center, Tan Cang – South Do Son Deepwater Port and in deploying mother vessels at Tan Cang – Cai Mep Container Terminal (phase 1) to render a direct service route from the South of Vietnam to the USA and Europe. The guests was deeply impressed by SNP’s cozy manner and hospitality and had sent a thank-you letter afterwards.
