Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc terminal 10 years of renovation to overcome ostacles

On April 6th 2010, Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc JSC was founded as a milestone in the development of Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP). The company operates Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal – one of SNP’s terminals – on Soai Rap river, Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City.
Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal does not only mark a new terminal in SNP network in South Vietnam, but also makes diference as it can receive up-to 50,000 DWT fully loaded vessels and up-to-70,000 DWT partially loaded vessels. Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal will play as the main customs clearance point for South Hochiminh city and the Mekong Delta. Besides, Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal is considered the extension of Cat Lai Terminal, and the satelite port for Cai Mep Terminals, acting as a logistics hub to contribute to the 3 core business of SNP.
With terminal operation as its core business, Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Termimal has 420 meters berth, 5 transit berths for 2,000-ton barges, nearly 17 hectares container yard, with modern equipments, modern management system such as: TOPX (terminal operation system), Eport (online container lookup and payment), Edo (electronic dilevery order), e-receipt, mobile app...
On December 15th 2014, Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal received its maiden call, the SITC’s Saigon Bridge. SITC is one of the top vessel operators at Cat Lai Terminal and is ranked 4th in container throughput. The maiden call of Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal was a milestone in the development of Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc JSC.
Operating since May 19th 2015, Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal has helped Cat Lai Terminal in reducing traffic, and has acted as an important clearance point for South Hochiminh city and neighboring area. One significant event of Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal was the receiving ZIM’s DIGNITY M/V on June 22nd 2016, which was a 54,255DWT vessel and the biggest container vessel berthing at Hochiminh city terminals.
On December 1st 2017, Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal received its first cruise, affirming the ability to handle various services of SNP’s network.
Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal is also the place for packing goods, as it has specialized berth for barging and specialized equipment, high volume of empty containers and professional workers. Specific packing services include packing and unpacking at berth, at bouy and at yard for agricultural products, coconut fibre, fertilizer, OOG, general goods, refer goods (CFS)... Besides container and goods services, Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal also promotes international cruise services, bulk cargo vessels, logistics services, door-to-door services to customers.
Food exports (such as Vinafood 2, Loc Troi Group, Tan Long...), fertilizer companies (such as Vietnam National Chemical Group...), and building materials companies highly praise the efficiency and handling productivity of Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal. Currently, Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal is promoting domestic vessel services as general ports in center of Hochiminh city have to move southward. With growing export of Vietnamese specialties and the constant rise of deepwater ports in Cai Mep area, Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal affirms its role as a hub connecting goods from Southwest Vietnam and Hochiminh City to Cai Mep ports, especially frozen goods and specialties of the Mekong Delta like rice and coconut fibre.

From 171 billions dong of capital in the beginning, the company has reached 600 billions dong capital and 1,200 billions dong of total assets. Business results from 2011 to 2019: Total revenue is 2,030.9 billions dong; average revenue grow rate in 5 years is 5%; profit after tax is 155.2 billions dong, with average growth of 10% per year; state budget submission is 111.7 billions dong; average staff income is 20.2 millions dong per month.
