Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc terminal SNP’s potential place for reefer services

With a strategic location between south Hochiminh city and the sea, near belt roads and industrial zones, in the border of Southern key economic area and the Mekong Delta, Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc (TCHP) Terminal is considered the extended arm of Tan Cang – Cat Lai Terminal and a hinterland of Cai Mep terminals (TCIT, TCTT).
Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal is 10km away from HCMC and is located in HCMC’s master planning zone of industrial port urban zone. The terminal is the place for cargo flow and custom clearance in south HCMC and neighboring areas. Especially, for reefer goods (fruits, seafood…), Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc Terminal is well located for customs clearance, reefer goods handling for directly export at the terminal or import and export at Tan Cang – Cat Lai Terminal or Cai Mep Terminals. On March 30th, 2020, Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) issued Documentary No.966/TCT-KHKD referring to the direct handling and reefer stuffing at TCHP, starting April 15th, 2020. The reefer stuffing service is newly operated but has received praise from customers.
To meet demands and cut down costs, SNP has persuaded some big shipping companies to deliver empty containers to TCHP for stuffing at CY or the warehouse. Currently, TCHP has empty containers of Cosco, TSL, Wanhai, OOCL, ONE… Other shipping lines are considering delivering empty reefer containers here. Especially TCHP has 3 weekly domestic routes connecting Hai Phong and HCMC, which helps shipping companies to deliver empty reefer containers from Hai Phong to HCMC at low cost in peak season.
Reefer container yard at TCHP is designed with 260 plugs providing PTI services and stuffing activities. Shipping lines who transfer import containers from TCIT/TCTT to TCHP or transfers export containers from TCHP to TCIT/TCTT have a discount policy at 2.5USD/teu. Located at Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park and near reefer warehouses like Lotte, Alpha, Dory, Saigon Food… TCHP is a perfect choice for local customers as well as seafood, fruit exporters from the Mekong Delta. TCHP is not only the place for stuffing services but also the transit place for export/import containers at Tan Cang – Cat Lai Terminal or Cai Mep Terminals.
