Tan Cang Cai Cui Terminal – Meeting diverse customer needs in the region
Bringing empty-container services closer to raw-material areas enables enterprises to take full control of stuffing/unstuffing plans. At Tan Cang Cai Cui Terminal, CK LINE, MAERSK, ONE, RCL, YANG MING, TCS, and Vietsun have officially opened codes to provide empty containers for customers. Among them, MAERSK leads in volume for both dry and reefer empty containers, particularly supporting key customer groups in Can Tho and Hau Giang (former province).

Beyond Tan Cang Cai Cui Terminal, MAERSK has also taken the lead in providing empty-container services at the heart of major rice-producing areas near Tan Cang Thot Not Terminal and Tan Cang Sa Dec Terminal. This solution is especially effective for seasonal agricultural exports that require strict schedules and fast turnaround.
In addition to existing services, the presence of WAN HAI and COSCO at Tan Cang Giao Long Terminal (former Ben Tre province) has helped diversify service routes, strengthen integrated logistics-chain connectivity, and provide more flexible export options for local enterprises.

Development potential & international market direction
Providing shipping lines’ container handling and empty-container services at SNP facilities in the Mekong Delta offers an alternative to repositioning empties from depots in the Southeast region. This helps shorten transportation time and equipment turnaround, significantly reduce logistics costs per unit of product, increase operational flexibility, and reduce supply-chain disruption risks.
At the same time, to meet the growing demand of the Mekong Delta market, shipping lines have been actively conducting surveys, working directly with customers, and capturing export demand, as well as the clear growth across multiple cargo groups such as agricultural products, processed foods, and light industrial goods.
The attractiveness of the Mekong Delta, Vietnam’s largest raw-material region, is drawing strong interest from international shipping lines. Beyond European and Chinese carriers, a major Korean shipping line has completed its potential assessment and is expected to open codes for empty-container release in Q1/2026 at two SNP facilities. This is viewed as a strategic move, enabling the carrier to expand its logistics service network for customers.
This new entry confirms the significant growth runway of the Mekong Delta market and serves as a testament to confidence in the service quality of the SNP system. SNP in general and the trusted facilities in particular will continue improving existing services while expanding new offerings, aiming to deliver end-to-end solutions that create greater value for all stakeholders across the service chain.
