The MOU signing ceremony between SK Energy and Saigon Newport corporation

On March 31st, 2017, at Tan Cang - Cat Lai Terminal, Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) and SK Energy Company (South Korea) officially signed the MOU to develop Netruck House rest-stop project for trucks. Through this project, the two parties hope to bring benefits to truck drivers, to improve the infrastructure and business environment for the region and the nation as well as to develop the economy of Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

The signing ceremony marks a combination between SNP - the leading port operator and logistics service provider in Vietnam and SK Energy - the top global energy group. With their experience and capacity, the two parties will contribute to raise the efficiency of investment and business.

TCSG currently holds the No.1 in Vietnam for seaport operation and logistics services. Tan Cang - Cat Lai Terminal which is operated by (SNP) currently ranked in the top 25 largest and most modern port in the world. SNP accounts for about 50% of the market share of container import and export in Vietnam and 89% of the market share in HCMC. SNP is also ranked No1 in the top 20 logistics enterprises by Vietnam Logistics Association (VLA).

SK Energy is the leading oil company in South Korea, specializing in manufacturing of petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel and asphalt in Ulsan Complex. The company can handle 840,000 barrels of crude oil per day. SK Energy is making a comprehensive effort to improve business efficiency by fast and flexible manufacturing and is currently targeting the Vietnamese market.

By this Memorandum of Understanding, the two parties hoped that this would be the premise for both prospects of future development and expect that the cooperation between the two sides will contribute to promoting the strong development of economy of Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
