Tan Cang-Cai Mep terminals progress in improving service quality

In order to further consolidate and strengthen the relationship between port operating business and the Customs Department, to well perform the political tasks and powers of each unit on the basis of observing the Party's undertakings, the State's policies and laws, to contribute to the attraction of import and export cargo through Tan Cang - Cai Mep deep-water terminals, and create favorable conditions for the importation and exportation of cargo, approved by leaders of Sai Gon New Port Corporation (SNP) and leaders of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department, at 3pm on June 8, 2018, Tan Cang - Cai Mep Terminals and Cai Mep Port Customs Branch held a signing ceremony of Regulation on coordination of activities.

Attendance included comrade Nguyen Thanh Sang - Deputy Head of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department, along with leader representatives of Business Offices of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department, and leaders of Cai Mep Customs Branch. Representing the Corporation was Colonel Ngo Minh Thuan - Deputy Director of Tan Cang Saigon Corporation, leader representatives of agencies and leaders of Tan Cang-Cai Mep Terminals units.

The contents of the Regulation on coordination of activities relate to many fields such as: monitoring and controlling cargo entering and leaving terminals; monitoring and controlling means of transportation; monitoring empty containers; coordination in the field of Megaport, and joint inspecting coordination to create convenience for customers to carry out cargo forwarding procedures at the terminal.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, comrade Colonel Ngo Minh Thuan - Deputy Director of Sai Gon New Port Corporation, appreciated the effectiveness of implementing the regulation on coordination between the port operating business and the Customs Department on the spirit of respecting the law, respecting each other and cooperating & supporting with the common goal of improving the quality of serving import & export business through the terminal. SNP determined customs clearance plays an important role in maintaining and improving the quality of customer service. Therefore, in addition to efforts to complete the infrastructure system, modern information technology application, process improvement, training & retraining staffs in port operation production line, issuing reasonable policies..., SNP proposed Cai Mep Port Customs Branch and specialized agencies based in Cai Mep on the regulation basis, to always create favorable conditions for customers to attract cargo quantity clearance at the terminals.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sang - Deputy Director of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Customs Department, stated: "In the context that Customs industry is reducing staffs following new requirements while there would be much more workload, but Ba Ria-Vung Tau Customs Department is determined to renovate & advance professional skills & attitudes of cadres so that business can rest assured and enhance the delivery and reception of cargo directly at Cai Mep terminals. In addition, the Customs Department will actively propose to provinces and other relevant ministries to soon solve difficulties of the business community, implement solutions to develop Cai Mep deep-water terminals in a synchronized manner such as opening branches of functional inspection agencies with full functions & conditions for immediate customs clearance at Cai Mep, completing port-connected transport infrastructure & policies attracting all kinds of ships into Cai Mep terminal "
