Meeting between SNP And HCMC 1st region customs in Saigon Newport Company

On November 14, 2006, HCMC Region I Customs had, in cooperation with Saigon Newport Company (SNP), hosted the “Meeting between enterprises and HCMC Region I Customs” at SNP great hall. The meeting, presided by representatives of HCMC Customs, Region I Customs and SNP Board of Director, had attracted the attendance of representatives of many shipping lines, shipping agents and business enterprises operating at SNP’s premises.

On November 14, 2006, HCMC Region I Customs had, in cooperation with Saigon Newport Company (SNP), hosted the “Meeting between enterprises and HCMC Region I Customs” at SNP great hall. The meeting, presided by representatives of HCMC Customs, Region I Customs and SNP Board of Director, had attracted the attendance of representatives of many shipping lines, shipping agents and business enterprises operating at SNP’s premises.
As stated by Customs Officers at the meeting, there had been a reformation and revised regulations on customs policies and formalities. Many an attendee had also emphasized on the constraints of customs procedures as well as proposed alternative solutions. Most customers and the Thanh Nien had shared the same opinion that “Customs Officers have now worn smiles”. Satisfactorily representatives on the side of customs had given answers to queries raised by enterprises and committed to reforming on a larger scale so as to keep up with the booming trade in the Southern market as Vietnam joint the World Trade Center (WTO). To be more specific, in the coming time, investment will be focused on X-ray inspection machines capable of checking 300 containers/day, the purpose of which is to reduce time for customs clearance and boost operations, providing favorable conditions for enterprises. In another report on the improvement of customer services at the meeting, Marketing Department of SNP had introduced a new service namely “supplying port service and information via SMS” to be implemented in early December, 2006. In addition, the Military Joint Stock Bank had also presented a number of banking operations to serve customers. Subsequent to the meeting, there raised a demand by enterprises for the maintenance of such meeting for a shorter period.
