MSC Shipping line deploys the first export shipment having customs cleared in Tan Cang - Que Vo ICD

On July 5, 2023, ICD Tan Cang Que Vo organized an event to receive the first export shipment of MSC cleared at the ICD with the participation of representatives of shipping lines and customers using ICD's services.

As the first container shipping line in the world, with a long-term strategic vision, MSC always cooperates with Saigon Newport - the leading port operator and logistics service provider in Vietnam - to find the best ways and solutions to improve service quality for its customers. MSC appreciates green transport solutions deployed by SNP with the goal of joining hands to reduce emissions. In the past, the shipping line has cooperated and coordinated with customers and partners to introduce logistics solutions using TC-QV as a center for freight forwarding and customs clearance for customers in the area. With the orientation to bring the port closer to customers in Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen and surrounding areas, so that customers can easily deliver containers, buy sea freight and have customs cleared at ICD Tan Cang - Que Vo. This solution brings the convenience of customers, because they can receive/deliver containers near the factory, while contributing to the development of a green and sustainable supply chain to reduce emissions by barging containers to ports.



The project of MSC has achieved initial favorable results when U&I Logistics customers used ICD TCQV to clear export goods. U&I Logistics chose to drop off firsts 79 export containers, having customs clearance directly at ICD TC-QV. Customers highly appreciated the port operation capabilities of the SNP system, as well as the cooperation and coordination between ICD TCQV and MSC in operating the barging service, and expressed confidence in the increase of the volume of imports and exports having customs clearance at ICD TC-QV in the coming time, thanks to the utilities that the solution brings to the customers.



Tan Cang - Que Vo ICD was put into operation from the end of 2021 with the decision to announce the Dry Port of the Ministry of Transport and the Inland Clearance Point of the Ministry of Finance. It is expected to reduce congestion on the road system, and take advantage of the waterway system connecting to the inland logistic facilities in the Northern region. Currently, ICD Tan Cang - Que Vo is an effective destination for major shipping lines in the world, including Maersk, MSC, Cosco, ONE, SITC, Wanhai, HMM, Dongjin, SM Line.



Tan Cang - Que Vo ICD is currently providing services of Depot, stuffing/unstuffing, cargo inspection and short-haul trucking, receiving containers for barging... with the infrastructure capable of receiving 3 barges simultaneously, receiving barges up to 128 TEUs, annual throughput capacity reaches 700,000 TEUs. Tan Cang - Que Vo ICD will become an important delivery/receipt point of the area in the near future, an important link in the waterway transport route connecting Hai Phong and Bac Ninh area, helping shorten the transport time between factories and ports with the commitment to safety, prestige and experience of Tan Cang Waterway Transport – an SNP’s subsidiary specializing in barge transportation.
