Saigon Newport Company (SNP) meets 2006 throughput objective 50 days ahead

Last November 10, 2006 as the M/V named Marcatania of Dongnama Shipping Lines carrying the 1,250,000th teu departs Cat Lai Port, SNP was enjoying the ceremony for fulfilling throughput plan for this year 50 days ahead.

Last November 10, 2006 as the M/V named Marcatania of Dongnama Shipping Lines carrying the 1,250,000th teu departs Cat Lai Port, SNP was enjoying the ceremony for fulfilling throughput plan for this year 50 days ahead.
By this time, Cat Lai Port has achieved a tremendous growth of 38% over the same period of last year. The bloom of such expansion has yielded in an estimated throughput of 1.4M teu at Cat Lai Port for 2006, accounting for 64% of HCMC market and 40% nationally. Last year, Cat Lai Port was also the first port in the country to reach an annual throughput of 1.0M teu. With regard to annual plan for 2007, SNP is striving for the investment of new equipment and modern system of IT in order to reach a proposed capacity of 1.7M teu.
