Saigon Newport Corporation: Commencement of the project to upgrade and modernize Tan Cang - Cat Lai terminal

On 1 August, in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) organized the groundbreaking ceremony for package No. 1A: Construction of beach road behind the berth, upgrading access bridges and shore protection embankments in areas 1 and 2 under the Tan Cang - Cat Lai Terminal (TCCL) modernization project.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were directors: Senior Captain Ngo Minh Thuan, General Director; Senior Captain Nguyen Nang Toan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the SNP; Comrades in the Board of Directors and representatives of construction contractors, supervision consultants and design consultants.

Package No. 1A belongs to the investment project to upgrade and modernize TCCL, with a total investment capital of more than 739 billion VND invested by SNP and widely and publicly bid. , transparently online, in accordance with the law.

The main contractor selected is a joint venture: Phu Xuan Construction and Consulting Joint Stock Company - 873 Joint Stock Company Construction of traffic works, and Phu Xuan Construction - 873 Joint Stock Company - Construction of traffic works pine. The subcontractor was assigned to Tan Cang Construction Joint Stock Company.

The design consulting unit is Investment and Design Consulting Joint Stock Company No. 1 and Marine Construction Joint Stock Company. The supervision consulting contractor is a joint venture: Thinh Long Consulting and Construction Joint Stock Company - Investment and Design Consulting Joint Stock Company No. 1 - Nam Trading, Investment Consulting and Construction Company Limited Older brother.

The project to upgrade and modernize TCCL is divided into 3 phases, with a total construction period of 480 days from the date SNP issued the starting order.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, representatives of contractors, design consultants and supervision consultants pledged to ensure technical requirements, quality, progress, safety and economic efficiency. During the construction process, contractors and consulting units strictly comply with approved design documents, contract documents, quality management documents, and approved construction organization measures.

The investment project to upgrade and modernize TCCL is identified as a key, priority and urgent project to improve capacity, services, port throughput capacity, reduce operating costs, and improve quality serving; as a basis for synchronously upgrading equipment, aiming to develop automation, greening and digitalization of TCCL. This is the largest and most modern port in Vietnam, currently handling over 1/3 of the volume of imported and exported container goods through the country's seaport system.
