Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal successfully receives Zhonggu’s ZGCV2 service, strengthening intra-Asia connectivity

On March 17, 2026, Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal (TCHP) successfully received XIN HAI XIU, the first vessel on the new ZGCV2 service operated by Zhonggu Logistics (ZGL) with a frequency of one call per week, bringing the total number of services currently calling at TCHP to 10. This milestone further underscores TCHP’s increasingly prominent role in the maritime and logistics connectivity chain of Southern Vietnam’s key economic region.

Strengthening direct connectivity to Qinzhou Port

With the routing connecting Qinzhou – Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal (TCHP), the ZGCV2 service provides an additional connection option to the China market for customers in the Southeastern region and the Mekong Delta, particularly businesses with import-export demand through Qinzhou Port and neighboring ports.

The maiden call of XIN HAI XIU at TCHP marks Zhonggu’s official launch of the ZGCV2 service in the Ho Chi Minh City market. At a time when cargo flows between Vietnam and China continue to maintain stable growth momentum, this new service is expected to better meet transportation demand while increasing container vessel calling frequency at Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Terminal.

The launch of the ZGCV2 service delivers practical benefits to import-export customers in Southern Vietnam. Shippers and cargo owners will have more options in terms of vessel schedules and transport solutions, enabling better cargo planning, improving supply chain stability, and enhancing access to the South China market.

In particular, for key export commodities such as agricultural products (rice, rice bran, coconut fiber, coco peat), seafood, consumer goods, and selected industrial cargo, the new service is expected to help shorten transit time and increase stuffing/destuffing volume handled through TCHP, where customers can benefit from direct export vessel calling services.

Amid a shipping market influenced by economic and geopolitical factors, the launch of the ZGCV2 service at TCHP reflects the growing trend of expanding short-haul regional services to meet rising trade demand between Vietnam and South China. It also serves as further evidence of TCHP’s operational capability, service quality, and growing attractiveness to international.

Zhonggu is the largest domestic container carrier in China and also one of the country’s leading private container shipping lines, playing an important role in the domestic transportation network. In China, Zhonggu currently operates a fleet of more than 100 container vessels and ranks 13th among the world’s largest container shipping lines, according to Alphaliner.
