Tan Cang - Cai Cui terminal grand opening cermony

On December 06th 2016, Saigon New Port Corp. (SNP) solemnly held the Grand Opening of Tan Cang - Cai Cui Terminal (Cai Rang Dist., Can Tho City)

Attendants of the Ceremony include Leaders from the SouthWest Regional Steering Committee, Ministry of Transport, Can Tho City’s and Government Authorities, Leaders of Mekong Delta’s Provinces. On SNP’s side were Commodore Ngo Quang Chung – Secretary of Party Committee, Executive Vice President of SNP, Managers of Line Departments, Subsidiaries of SNP; shipping lines, customers who have been fond of and taken interest as well as taking time to attend the Opening Ceremony of Tan Cang Cai Cui Terminal – the 17th premises of SNP’s Terminal Network.



With the motto “Bring Port to Customers”, since 2010, SNP has been investing, managing and operating a system of 7 domestic ports and logistics centers in Mekong Delta, including: Tan Cang Cao Lanh, Tan Cang Sa Dec (Dong Thap Province), Tan Cang My Thoi (An Giang Province), Tan Cang Giao Long (Ben Tre Province) and Tan Cang Thot Not, Tan Cang Tra Noc, Tan Cang Cai Cui (Can Tho City).

The brand new premise Tan Cang Cai Cui Terminal’s Phase I with more than 7 ha of total area, 180m of berth and 8.5m alongside draft, is able to receive up to 20,000 DWT vessel. Tan Cang Cai Cui is a specialized port which may gradually shift the local business behavior from general cargo to containerized cargo; with 6,000 m2 warehouse, supplied with modern cargo handling equipment for both container and general cargo, compatibly accommodating the requirements of shipping lines and local economic development.
On October 24th 2016, Tan Cang Cai Cui Terminal welcomed the maiden call of Tan Cang Pioneer - under operation of New Port Lines JS Co - marked the event of first big sized container vessel navigating on Hau river through Quan Chanh Bo canal – Tra Vinh Province, carrying cargo from Hai Phong to Can Tho city, also became a significant milestones for regional connection between Northern and Mekong Delta. With stable weekly service, so far Tan Cang Cai Cui has received 06 callings of container vessels. SNP keenly anticipates the varied benefits of this service by the full-packaged logistics solution, saving time and cost for local businesses.

Being able to receive container vessel has recently made Tan Cang Cai Cui terminal become increasingly acknowledged by international carriers, who have conducted some studies on direct service between Singapore and TC Cai Cui. This is a positive signal for the connection between Mekong Delta with other provinces and other countries within SEA Region.

The Grand Opening of TC Cai Cui Terminal is an impressive event of provincial connection, promoting the business of Mekong Delta domestically and internationally, SNP has been synchronically developing overland and waterway transportation of containers to deliver cargo to crucial location, assisting local business‘ supply chain, contributing to social development, maintaining security and defense of relating provinces.
