The cooperation between Saigon Newport Corporation and Vingroup to develop seaport infrastructure

On Sept 29th, in Hanoi, Saigon Newport Corporation and Vingroup officially signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement in developing the infrastructure system of the seaport and domestics logistics.
Accordingly, Saigon Newport Corporation and Vingroup will maximize their available advantages to develop modern seaport infrastructure projects which can meet the international standards; Both sides will also co-operate to invest in development of the domestic logistics system to serve logistics service activities and trade of both parties. This comprehensive cooperation agreement will contribute to improving the investment and business efficiency, service quality and aiming to build the seaport system with synchronized infrastructure, professional and modern logistics and transportation services in Vietnam.
SNP currently holds the No. 1 position in Terminal operation and logistics services in Vietnam. Tan Cang - Cat Lai Terminal (operated by SNP) ranks among the top 25 biggest and most modern ports in the world; accounting for 50% market share of import and export container throughput in Vietnam, 89% market share in HCM City. SNP has been constantly ranked in Top 20 logistics enterprises selected by Vietnam Logistics Association in 2014 and 2015. Vingroup is a leading multidisciplinary private corporation in Vietnam who has got the supreme scope and prestige in all the participating fields. With strong financial ability, professional capability in the deployment of the projects, projects invested by Vingroup have always reached or exceeded its quality commitment and be operated with high standards, establishing new standards for the market.
With Vingroup’s cooperation, SNP expects to perfect the SNP’s seaport and logistics infrastructure system in Vietnam. Recently, SNP has increased the investment in the seaport and logistics network on the nationwide level, with the highlight in the Hai Phong International Seaport in Lach Huyen ( Hai Phong )in the North, new container terminals in the South focal economic such as Tan Cang – Phu Huu, Tan Cang – Hiep Phuoc, the first terminal to welcome container vessel in the Mekong Delta (Tan Cang – Cai Cui), alongside the ICDs and depots in all three regions all over Vietnam. Vingroup had shown its interest in expanding the portfolio to the transportation infrastructure with the intention to invest in the big seaports of Vietnam. Thus, the cooperation between the two parties shall enhance the potentials and upgrade the business of two industry-leading brands, create the practical benefits not only for the two enterprises, but also for the whole Vietnamese business community.
