Saigon Newport Corporation and FIATA 2023 aim for green change in the field of Logistics

October 3 - 6, 2023, at Brussels conference center, Belgium, representative of Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) attended the FIATA World Congress 2023 (FWC 2023) event organized by the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) with the theme "The changing environment of the logistics industry - The changing climate of logistics" aims to create green logistics solutions for the sustainable development of the community in the face of global climate change.



FWC 2023 is an international event, with more than 1,000 delegates from 80 countries, 72 speakers, attending 27 meetings and discussion sessions. With the desire to access and learn logistics experiences from advanced countries around the world, and simultaneously find opportunities for business cooperation, market development, capacity building, thereby contributing to promoting trade activities, import and export of Vietnam, the Vietnamese delegation attended this event with the Vietnam Logistics Business Association - VLA leading and nearly 20 delegates who are leaders of the VLA Association. The FIATA this year aims to promote development and cooperation with international friends. With more than 30 booths from multinational organizations and companies, diverse programs and issues are discussed throughout, including: Young Logistics Professionals Program, award ceremony for future logistics house; discussion sessions on exploring the future of green logistics; the role of digital transformation in solving logistics problems; Navigating evolving transportation needs, minimizing risks in the industry, as well as orienting and training future generations for logistics careers.



With the fluctuations of the world situation in recent years, SNP always closely follows the situation, grasps the trends of the times, accompanies and understands the market and customers to maintain service during this difficult period, as well as learn and research solutions to constantly change and develop in a new environment.



As a pioneering company that uses green logistics and accompanies customers, partners and shipping lines with a sustainable development strategy, SNP participated in this event to strengthen international exchange connections and expand the international market through the exchange of experience and knowledge on digital transformation and the greening of the port logistics ecosystem, contributing to the transformation of Vietnam into a sustainable logistics center in the world. Along with the application of digital ecosystems such as transportation operations management (OTM), electronic port (ePort), customer relationship management (CRM), electronic warehouse management (EWMS), SNP constantly improve service quality and optimize customer experience in the Port-logistics service chain, bringing the port closer to customers.

Confirming the development prospects of the logistics sector in Vietnam, Mr. Stéphane Graber, General Director of FIATA, said he had just had a survey trip to Vietnam last July to prepare for FWC 2025 to be held in Hanoi. Also on this occasion, FIATA President Ivan Petrov and Mr. Stéphane Graber met and had a working session with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes Vietnam's relationship with the FIATA Federation will become increasingly tighter and more effective.



“2023 FIATA World Congress” is an international-scale event and an opportunity for SNP to connect with global customers and enterprises, and promote SNP's brand to friends internationally, affirming SNP's reputation as the leading port operator in Vietnam is the premise for a 35-year-old brand that has existed and developed, aiming to connect the world, contributing to the process of upgrading the quality of Vietnam's logistics services and infrastructure on the world stage, according to Resolution 36-NQ/TW on the Strategy for sustainable development of Vietnam's marine economy to 2030, with a vision to 2040 set out by the Government.
 
Mr. Dang Vu Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA), led the Vietnamese business delegation attending FWC 2023 to congratulate the success of FWC 2023 in Belgium. Vietnam's logistics industry is also oriented towards sustainable development and greening in this general transformation. “We hope Vietnamese logistics businesses will have access to new trends and solutions to adapt to changes in the current business environment. This is also an opportunity for enterprises to exchange, connect and cooperate to develop relevant fields."

Mr. Stéphane Graber, General Director of FIATA, said: “After COVID-19, certain activities are being reallocated in Asia, and one of the destinations for logistics activities is Vietnam. Because more and more manufacturing activities are being carried out in Vietnam, the country has many opportunities to develop the logistics industry.
